World War Two Extravaganza!

Years 3 and 4 have enjoyed a fantastic day learning all about World War Two. Some children even dressed up as evacuees from 1939!

The children made their own boxes to carry around a gas mask.

Then they were taken to the 'train station' where they lined up on the platform waiting to be taken to the countryside by their new families.

Some got to enjoy the outdoors, playing games, skipping and climbing trees...

...others were put to work by their new families doing chores such as cleaning and cooking ...

...mending shoes...

...working on a farm and milking cows, feeding chickens and cleaning out the pigs ...

...while the boys had to work hard digging, raking, and sowing seeds.

Some also experienced wartime school life.

It was a great day had by all. The children went home having enjoyed their activities and learning lots too!
